An Open Letter To Our Customers,
Welcome to Black Bear Tea Co.'s new website! We are very excited to be taking on our 5th year in downtown Gatlinburg TN., as well as the launch of the new website.
Let me start by saying how grateful I am for all of our customers and especially my loyal, repeat customers. You are ALL the tea leaves of Black Bear's tea bush! THANK YOU!
Over the last four years we have really tried to listen to our customers and stock items that are functional and well made. We continue to look at the new trends in the industry and at the same time try not to be sold on all the hype and really test the products before we offer them to our customers. I personally use a variety of ways to make my tea daily,(lucky to be in the business!), but I have to say I continue to come back to the teapot in the evening when I get home.
We have also had a lot of questions about tea and its medicinal properties both in the shop and on the web. We have attempted to provide some links and some basics on the Camellia sinensis plant and the term herbal or tisane. There is a lot of information out there on the subject and we encourage our customers to do their own research on the specific medical issue and consult their doctors and nurses. Tea and herbal teas can aid in the treatment of many ailments and disorders, but the it is very important that one consults with their doctors and an herbalists (in the case of herbal blends) to get permission and their professional opinion on the use there of. Tea can be good medicine!
The website has been updated and given a slightly different look, but updated has been the goal and we hope you find it user friendly. I have tried to provide some useful information and links, as there is so much information on the web when one searches for TEA. I have done my best to give credit to the sources where due, and will in advance apologize where I have missed. For those of you who have met me, you know I am a so called “purest” when it comes to my teas and the education there of. I thrive on the leaf and the knowledge of it. I believe it is a plant that has been a gift to humanity and the soul. With that said, I hope you enjoy the read and more importantly your tea!
